Sometimes, I Get the Strangest Visitors…
I’m just sitting here, at my computer, minding my Ps and Qs…programming away… when THIS Guy fly’s in and lands on my driveway.

Ok, so EXCUSE my horrid picture taking skills. I had all about 20 seconds to take these shots and the damn flash was on and I had to reconfigure for using the memory stick instead of hard storage…

He prefers not to take a ride in the mini and instead admires our walk way design.

I’m actually glad Mags isn’t here to see this. She didn’t ever care for things with wings. Let’s just say, it would not have been pretty for either party. Feathers would be flying or a dingo would have been seriously clucked.

He decides he doesn’t really care for his paparazzi, and heads off toward Nitwit Bridge in search of dinner. Oh well, he’s a little early for Thanksgiving anyway.

There are tons of wild turkeys in several remote areas around here, too. I agree with Marscat…it must be mating season. I have seen 1 female (as in your photo) and then 10 males, a few hundred feet behind.

10 males for one lady turkey? She’s either very lucky or very scared!
And just how is it you know so much about turkeys?

Hey, I found your blog while browsing through Dooce and can I just say I have never seen one of those things outside of the grocery store. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have stopped screaming if one just flew into my driveway…they do fly…don’t they??
