Breaking the News
“Loki, Juno, come here. Time for a family meeting.”
“Damn it cupcake, I told you not to eat her shoes again. Now we’re both grounded.”
“Ooo… I can’t look. I don’t want to know what kind of trouble we’re in. Maybe we’re going to JAIL!”
“No Loki, that’s not why I called you here. Although I’m not entirely pleased knowing that my shoe collection has been once again downsized.”
“Well then, I’m all ears mom. But you knew that already!”
“Mom, I’m really sorry, but I only ate the really ugly shoes, which sadly for you, are the majority of your collection.”
“Well, Loki and Juno, I have good news and bad news. “
“We’ll take the good news first please.”
“I’m not sure I like the sound of this Daddy-O.”
“Ok, doggies. Remember the TravelMarx? They’re coming for a long visit for 8 fun-filled days!”
“Yippie! The TravelMarx are comming! 24-hour treat dispensers!”
“Wooo! Party Time! 47 games of Tug per day with the TravelMarx!’
“Ok, settle down. I still have to give you the bad news.”
”Um, maybe I should lay down for this.”
“What on dog’s earth could be so bad mom?”
“Well, Mr. Wild Dingo and I will be gone for 8 whole days while the TravelMarx are here. We can’t take you with us but we’re going to miss you. So how do you feel about that?“
“Yippie! The TravelMarx are coming! Suckers for the Juno Mind Trick! Woo hoo! And no rulez to follow for 8 WHOLE DAYS! That’s like a dog year of fun.”
“Yippie! No Parental units! Wooo hooo! Wooo woo! Non-stop Tug playing day AND night!”
Hmmm… not the reaction I expected. I guess it’s always good to know where I really stand with these two.
Sigh. My blog readers may miss me more than my own dogs! So, if you all want some Loki and Juno updates, please e-mail the TravelMarx at travelmarx @ wilddingo.com (type it into your email program). They may be pursuaded to post up some shots a few times while they’re visiting, hopefully to let me know that my precious, loving and loyal dogs aren’t starving or bored to death.
I won’t have Internet access. I’m so low tech, I don’t even have a Blackberry or IPhone. But I’ll be back next Friday to catch up with my dog-blog friends. Until then, feel free to pester TravelMarx for a few updates on Wild Dingo!

Sounds just like school days and discovering you have the substitute teacher. You just KNOW that you are going to get away with stuff.
We think that the TravelMarx should know that part of their duties are to post daily pictures of the destruction, er, fun so that all of your readers know what you will come home to.

LOL! Yep, I think my dogs feel the same way when they go visit my grandparents. Four acres fenced in yard, food without tricks or even a sit first (no treats for Jackal cause of easy weight gain and sensitive tummy), Storm gets the occasional tidbit off of someone’s plate, unlimited outside time (for Jackal anyway). Yep, they don’t miss me one bit!! I think the only thing Jackal misses is a warm body to cuddle up to at night. Poor pup has to sleep on the floor over there.
