Alligator Lizard -111/365

I didn’t take critterology in college, but I think this is a Northern Alligator Lizard. There are many subspecies and it is difficult to identify which one this is. Perhaps this is a Sierra Alligator Lizard. This one was found on our Nitwit trail in Santa Cruz Mountains. The feet behind it is of a German-Asian canine species, or better known as the cracker who had ironically earned the nickname "alligator" in school. (I have no idea why.) Miraculously, this lizard escaped being trampled by the cracker or the criminal.

Sadly, this is not a macro shot.

  1. Get it, Loki! Get it! Dive on it and grab it and shake it like there's no tomorrow!
Oh. Errr... I mean "leave it". Cuz ... yeah. That's what I'd do. Leave it.
