I don’t have a domain name. Can you help me find one and buy it for me?
Yes, Wild Dingo can procure domain name services for you.
I don’t have a Web host. Can you purchase a Web Hosting service for me?
Yes, Wild Dingo can recommend several Web hosts and procure a host to meet your needs. See my business policies on Web Hosting and related Web Services. Wild Dingo, however is NOT a Web Host and does not assume liability for Web Host service satisfaction.
How long will all of this take?
Good question! If I had an easy answer, I’d be able to pop these babies out daily. But in truth, it depends on so many things: what your site requires and how long each review/approval process for each stage is. I try to provide a rough schedule and stick to it, but like everything else, it fluctuates with the project flow.
How much is this going to cost me?
Again, this depends on what you require. The simpler your site, the least expensive it is. The more bells-and-whistles that you need: flash animation, javascript, forms, e-commerce/shopping carts, calendars, blogs and more all add to the time and cost of the project. When first considering your Web site, put together your wish list and sort by “must have” and “like to have.” This will help in developing the proposal and refining an estimate if necessary.
So why are Web sites so expensive anyway?
There’s a lot that goes into a Web site! I’m exhausted just thinking about it. But, like a good project manager, I can break it down for you. There are 5 major components of a Web site:
- Planning
- Design
- Content
- Programming
- Search Engine Marketing
Each one of these components adds to the success of your Web site objectives and each one builds on each other. It’s a little like building a house. Before beginning you need a plan and a design. From there, you build your frame (programming) and fill it with furniture, art and knowledge (content). Finally, you’ll need a way to have your friends find your new home quickly (search engine marketing). Each one of these phases takes time, careful thought and experience to lead you to success with your Web site objectives.
Why is Search Engine Optimization and Marketing so important?
What good is building a house if nobody can find it? You spent so much money building your site, it’s important for search engines and the more importantly, your customers USING search engines, to find it. There’s a multitude of programming and content strategies alone that make it easier for search engines to find you. After that, there are paid advertising methods. Based on your Web site needs and budget, we’ll find a happy medium for making it easy for your customers to find you quickly on the Web.
