FAQs

  • I started Wild Dingo in 2001 as a communications consulting business which evolved into web design and development. The CEO was a dingo named Maggie.
  • In 2010, we moved to Switzerland, so I closed my company but continued to blog about my staff members Loki & Juno. I never dreamed of living abroad, let alone in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I write all about our ex-pat-lives in Switzerland as well as moving our two dogs out there.
  • I battled Lyme Disease for 13 years. It went undiagnosed for 8 years and I treated it heavily with IV medications, naturopathic medicine, holistic medicine and various other treatment modalities. I’m recovered but it did leave me with a few ongoing issues, mostly autoimmune issues and some arthritis.
  • I’m a tech geek. I was an early adopter of WordPress. This site has been operating on WordPress since 2005.
  • I’m fairly athletic. I was a ballet dancer, hip hop dancer, aerobics instructor, yoga teacher, road & mountain bike racer and now Mr. Wild Dingo and I are ballroom dancers.
  • I hold a M.A. in Health Psychology, a B.A. in psychology with a minor in dance.
  • I love working dogs. The more drive, the better. Loki was my first soul-dog. He was extremely high drive, insecure and reactive. I made a ton of mistakes with him, but he was patient and loyal and turned out to be amazing. I’m forever grateful to him. He paved the way to the two Belgian Malinois I have now. My female Freyja, is very high drive while my male, Ransom, is medium drive with high arousal (which is just a politically correct way of saying he’s reactive). While I do prefer the high drive, non reactive temperament, the reactivity is just another training challenge. Freyja came to me completely shut down and had no food drive, which was a challenge in itself. Ransom may be reactive but his food drive is very high which will help him continue to outgrow his reactivity. Every dog is different. Even those that come to you as puppies can exhibit insecurities that take a while to overcome.
